To enable individuals to reach their most important financial goals by delivering personalized investment management services that enhance wealth, provide clarity and boost confidence.

WDS is a privately owned company that offers discretionary portfolio management services to private clients who have a minimum of $500,000 to invest.  Since 2002, WDS has provided unbiased investment advice and consultative services to individuals including; entrepreneurs, professionals, company employees and retirees.  We also help to establish and manage Individual Pension Plans and family trusts.

The selection of an investment professional involves understanding the importance of having the right multi-disciplinary team working with you. We can help you make informed and risk-appropriate decisions about investing and managing wealth.  In addition to over 70 years of combined asset management experience, WDS portfolio managers are also accredited professionals with designations such as, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Our clients get the benefit of the entire team’s exceptional education, experience and skills in making strategic investment decisions.

Knowledge, discipline and integrity are cornerstone values for WDS. Successful investing depends on having the right knowledge of the fundamental facts and trends that drive the pricing of securities.  Our clients’ financial success depends on their confidence to stay the course.  And, they gain greater confidence and clarity due to our transparency and disciplined approach.By using a strategy of appropriate asset allocation and portfolio diversity, we achieve an attractive return over time for our clients while managing their risk. This is an essential key to their financial peace of mind.  We avoid excess exposure to any markets, industry sectors or individual securities that could do permanent harm to their portfolio. Because we’re grounded in value investing principles, we look for promising securities that may be out-of-fashion and trading at either low-relative or absolute valuations. Over time, this disciplined and patient approach has proven to yield superior results.

At WDS, our process is designed to build a financial portfolio that fits our clients’ specific requirements for prudent investing with long-term returns and income.  We constantly evaluate how well our clients’ portfolios are performing, issuing comprehensive investment summary reports to them on a regular basis, accompanied by a reasoned assessment of how the investment climate has impacted results.

Personal investing is a complex, dynamic cycle.  At WDS, we actively monitor, reassess and rebalance our clients’ accounts to maintain their target asset allocations in the most optimal ways possible.Portfolio tax efficiency, generating the highest return with the least amount of taxes, is also a critical strategy that WDS portfolio managers employ constantly.  We issue annual capital gains (loss) reports, along with receipts for any eligible, tax-deductible investment management fees that are paid.  WDS works with National Bank Correspondent Network Inc. to provide custody, trading, clearing and account administration for client accounts.

At WDS, our compensation is generated solely from advisory fees. We know that this enables us to provide a more objective, transparent and professional service.  Our portfolio management fees start at 1.35 per cent of the managed assets value.  Fees paid to WDS are generally tax-deductible for non-registered accounts.
