Firm History
Sprung Investment Management is an independent Investment Counsel firm, owned and operated by its principals who have extensive industry experience, averaging approximately 35 years each.
We work closely with you and your professional team (accountants, lawyers, planners) to ensure that your assets are well structured to meet your goals.
Investment Philosophy
Our primary responsibility is the preservation and growth of our clients’ assets. Our approach to investment management is “value” based. We look to the long term when making investment selections. Typically, we expect to hold a security anywhere from three to five years. It is our belief that our focus on the long term allows us to identify opportunities overlooked by market participants with shorter term investment horizons. Often, our approach results in somewhat contrary portfolio selections, as we are unlikely to be purchasing investments that are currently in vogue or the flavour of the day.
Reporting and Communication
We report on your progress quarterly. In our report, we review market conditions and provide our outlook for the issues which may effect the market going forward. We review your portfolios and provide commentary on the recent consolidated performance of your holdings.
We meet with our clients annually, or more frequently if required or desired by the client. At anytime, we encourage clients to call with questions or concerns.
Your assets will be held at an independent custodian. The custodian provides monthly statements detailing holdings and transactions as well as annual tax information. At Sprung we offer a number of custodial options, all related to major Canadian banks.
