Steadyhand Investment Funds Inc. was incorporated on July 25, 2006. The company filed its first Simplified Prospectus and Annual Information Form on February 13, 2007. Steadyhand received its MFDA membership on March 20, 2007, and began selling its funds to the public on April 10, 2007. Steadyhand is an independent, employee-owned company.
Our investment philosophy is simple: an investment fund should be concentrated, unconstrained, and non-benchmark oriented with low portfolio turnover.
Each Steadyhand fund charges One Simple Fee, which is a fixed fee that includes the fee for our services as manager and all of the fund’s operating expenses. In essence, this fee is the same as an MER. The exception being that in our case, investors know what the fee is in advance, before they invest. The One Simple Fee for our funds ranges from 0.65% to 1.78%.
In addition to our low base fees, we offer a reduction of each fund’s One Simple Fee based on the size of a client’s accounts with Steadyhand and their tenure with the firm. Fee reductions are applied to household assets above $100,000 and are made in the form of special distributions of additional fund units. Clients who hold our funds for five years or longer receive an additional discount on their fees.
Our Fee Reduction Program is designed to reward investors who have entrusted significant assets with Steadyhand, as well as long-standing investors in our funds
Communication is a key aspect of our business. Our focus is on providing transparent, relevant and timely information. From our written materials to our annual client presentations, our goal is to keep clients informed on what’s happening within our funds, company and industry.
We report to our clients quarterly and provide them with (1) an Account Statement, which shows performance and fees front and center, and (2) a Quarterly Report, which is an in-depth, yet plain-English look at the strategies and positioning of our funds.
