Toronto, ON – November 17, 2016 – The Portfolio Management Association of Canada (PMAC) is pleased to announce its Board of Directors for 2016-2017. The slate of Directors was elected at the Association’s Annual General Meeting in Toronto on November 15th. Eric Léveillé, Managing Director of BlackRock Asset Management, was elected Chair of the 2016-2017 Board of Directors.
“I’m very proud to be taking on the role of Board Chair at a time of unprecedented change in global markets, the political environment and the industry,” says Mr. Léveillé. “PMAC’s Board is committed to serving our growing and increasingly diverse group of over 230 asset management firms. Our Members may vary in size, client base, investment philosophy or business model, but the common bond is our commitment to the highest industry standards and as fiduciaries, putting clients’ needs and objectives first and foremost.”
Katie Walmsley, PMAC’s President adds, “In the coming year, PMAC will continue to focus on constructive and regular dialogue with industry regulators and government to help further industry standards, improve investor protection and support capital markets efficiency. PMAC looks forward to the coming year’s program of member-focused activities, including our three full-day compliance forums, committee meetings, specialized seminars, advocacy and education.”
